When Colors Play:
Ronald Shannon Jackson's free funk group in 1986 featured quite a bit of talent, most notably Eric Person (alto and soprano) and Zane Massey (tenor and soprano) along with two guitarists, bassist John Moody and Jackson's drums. This obscure LP, recorded live at the Caravan of Dreams, has plenty of intense outbursts and fiery solos, showing that it is possible to play creative funk.
